Jedlová, Tolštejn
The Lusatian Mountains hide many treasures – from quiet forest trails to historical monuments that tell stories of ancient times. Jedlová – lookout tower with a view into the heart of the mountains
Jedlová (774 m above sea level) is one of the highest mountains in the Lusatian Mountains and offers an unforgettable view of the surrounding landscape. On its summit there is a beautiful stone lookout tower built at the beginning of the 20th century, which is a tourist magnet. Several marked hiking trails lead to the tower, the most popular of which starts in the town of Jiřetín pod Jedlovou. At the top you will also find a mountain hut with refreshments.
Tolštejn – medieval watch over the region
Just below Jedlová lies the romantic ruins of Tolštejn Castle, which once guarded important trade routes. The castle was founded in the 13th century and its history is linked to the Vartenberg and Schleinitz families. Today, it has been preserved, especially a part of the castle walls and a beautiful view from the lookout. Tolštejn is accessible all year round and is a popular destination for family trips.

The Way of the Cross in Jiřetín – a spiritual stop in the countryside
Not far from Jiřetín there is an impressive Stations of the Cross leading to Křížová hora. This Baroque Stations of the Cross was built in the 18th century and is one of the oldest and most beautiful of its kind in North Bohemia. Stopping points with chapels and statues line the path up to the top of the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, from where you can enjoy a peaceful view of the landscape of the Lusatian Mountains and the Šluknov region.
The Šluknov region is famous for its rich tradition of Stations of the Cross, which are scattered throughout the region and represent important spiritual and cultural monuments.
