Experiential programs for preschools, elementary and secondary schools, and after-school programs

Are you a teacher at a preschool, elementary school, or high school, or do you run a preschool center, an after-school club, or a summer camp?
Would you like to add a touch of adventure to your children’s program, incorporating elements of experiential learning?

Then bring your children to Krásná Lípa and visit the House of Bohemian Switzerland. We will organize a program for you with a guide in our exhibition hall or classroom. Through a variety of activities, children will learn about the historical context and natural wonders of the Bohemian Switzerland landscape. The program supports the development of cooperative and communication skills (group work), the ability to work with text and concepts (comprehension, quick orientation), sensory perception (hearing, touch, smell), and environmental awareness.

We would be happy to organize full-day or half-day outdoor adventure programs for you in the Bohemian Switzerland National Park, during which children will learn lots of interesting facts about the region.

Outdoor Program – Starting in 4th Grade

Where the Wolves Roam, or the Secret of the Bandit Raschauer
Accompanied by a guide who also serves as an instructor, you’ll set out on an interactive expedition around Brtníky, where children will take on the role of the bandit’s helpers. The program focuses on exploring natural and historical sites
in the Bohemian Switzerland National Park while teaching children how to behave properly in a protected landscape. By completing tasks and giving correct answers, they earn gold coins, which encourage teamwork.

Outdoor Program – Preschool, Elementary School

In the Footsteps of Raschauer and to Two Lookout Towers in Bohemian Switzerland
Accompanied by a lecturer and guide, you’ll set out on an adventurous expedition through the Bohemian Switzerland National Park and the Elbe Sandstone Mountains Protected Landscape Area. The program offers two options tailored to the age and needs of the group. Through interactive activities, you’ll learn about the region’s history, geology, and nature, and discover how to behave appropriately in a protected landscape.
Short version: This 3-kilometer route takes you through the area around Vlčí hora. You’ll learn a lot about the region’s history and nature, and hear the legend of the local bandit Raschauer and the magical spring. The walk includes environmental activities tailored to the participants’ ages and knowledge levels.

Dymník

Outdoor Program – Preschool, Elementary School

In the Footsteps of Raschauer and to Two Lookout Towers in Bohemian Switzerland
Longer Route: To Two Lookout Towers in Bohemian Switzerland. This longer route is 9 km long and features a program themed “Journey to Prehistoric Times.” The route passes through the geologically fascinating landscape of the Lusatian Fault, and along the way, children will transform into groups of prehistoric hunters. They will compete for a treasure, complete small tasks, and earn points for correct answers that will lead them to the treasure. You’ll stop at the lookout towers on Vlčí hora and Dymník, where you’ll learn more about their history and points of interest. During the program, you’ll also learn the skills of prehistoric people, such as echolocation, navigating the terrain, and identifying animals and plants.

In the Footsteps of Rock Hiding Places
Accompanied by a guide who also serves as an instructor, you’ll set out on a pleasant walk through the Jetřichovice area. On this 3.5-kilometer loop, you’ll learn about the geology, history, and nature of the Bohemian Switzerland National Park and the Elbe Sandstone Protected Landscape Area. The route includes simple games tailored for children, which teach them in a fun way how to behave respectfully in a protected area.

Šaunštejn

Outdoor program – od 4. třídy ZŠ

In the Footsteps of the Šaunštejn Bandits, or Guardians of the Landscape After the Fire
Accompanied by a guide who also serves as an instructor, you’ll embark on an interactive tour of the sites where Bohemian Switzerland is being restored following the bark beetle infestation and forest fires. Participants will take on the role of assistants to the Šaunštejn bandits, who protect the forest. During the expedition, they will complete group tasks that will help them understand natural processes and history. They will learn how to help with forest restoration and how to behave in the National Park.

Kyjovké údolí_Pod praporkem

Outdoor program – MŠ, ZŠ, SŠ

Through the Kyjov Valley

Accompanied by an experienced instructor and certified guide, we’ll set out on an expedition to the nearby landscape of sandstone cliffs, caves, and mysterious medieval castles. On a 3-kilometer loop in the Kyjov Valley, you’ll learn about the Bohemian Switzerland National Park, the history of Kyjov, specific sites along the route, and unique plant species.

Target audience: Preschools, elementary schools, and high schools

Route: Kyjov – Kyjov Valley – Kyjov Castle – Skalní bratři – Kinského Lookout – Kyjov
Duration: approx. 3 km; 2–4 hours, depending on participants’ fitness levels

Krásná Lípa

Discover the Beauty of Krásná Lípa
Join a guide who is both an instructor and a tour leader for a walk through Krásná Lípa. On this 2-kilometer loop, you’ll learn plenty about Krásná Lípa, local figures, and life in the town and the forest. The route passes through the city park, the forest park, and around Cimrák Pond, where children will enjoy interactive activities tailored to their age group.

Favorite Places of Painter August Frind
Join a guided tour of the inspiring locations around Krásná Lípa where local painter August Frind created his works. On this 9-km route, you’ll discover historical and geological points of interest and stroll through picturesque spots such as the city park, the forest park, and Karlova výšina. This program focuses on connecting nature, history, and art and is suitable for older children and students.

Viewpoints in Jetřichovice

We’ll follow one of the oldest hiking trails to the famous Jetřichovice Lookouts, which are still named after members of the Kinsky family. You’ll learn plenty of interesting facts about the local nature and the region’s history.

The program is designed for upper-grade elementary school students and high school students.

Route length: approx. 6–8 km (walking), 4–5 hours

This fun-filled morning program focuses on ants, antlions, bark beetles, and the hermit beetle. Join our instructor on an adventurous journey where children will learn about the natural world of Bohemian Switzerland through stories and games, and discover the basics of nature conservation.

In the interactive exhibition at the House of Bohemian Switzerland, children use themed worksheets to follow in the footsteps of naturalists, artists, archaeologists, and tourists as they explore the landscape of Bohemian Switzerland. Their independent work is complemented by a guided tour led by an instructor and a screening of an engaging film about Bohemian Switzerland.

The programme is recommended for primary and secondary schools.

In the exhibition at the House of Bohemian Switzerland, children join the legendary magician Pumphut as they follow in the footsteps of naturalists, artists, archaeologists, and tourists to explore the landscape of Bohemian Switzerland. Working with themed worksheets and interactive teaching aids (e.g., a sensory box, a sandbox) is complemented by a guide’s commentary and a screening of an engaging film about Bohemian Switzerland.
