Golden Hill
Zlatý vrch is a prominent hill (657 m), on whose southeastern slope a quarry was allegedly founded sometime around 1870. The basalt columns in it were perfectly developed and only slightly cracked, so they could be broken up to 6 m long. Due to their great resistance, they were allegedly also used in the construction of sea dikes in the Netherlands. The quarry was originally divided into two floors, in which the length of the vertically erected columns reached up to 18 m. However, as early as the first half of the 20th century, it was considered that by mining the lower floor up to the wall of the upper floor, a continuous wall with columns around 30 m long would be created.
