Dymník Lookout Tower

The lookout tower is located at an altitude of 511 m above sea level on a wooded hill, it measures 15 m and its peak is topped by a glassed-in observation terrace. There was already a tour restaurant on Dymník Hill in 1895. In the 1990s, the lookout tower underwent extensive reconstruction and then again in 2008.

The lookout tower was built at the businessman Augustin Wenschuch’s own expense in 1896. It was opened to the public on 27 September 1896. It was previously called August’s Tower. The lookout tower is easily accessible by the yellow tourist-marked road from Rumburk, and from the parking lot with a restaurant at the foot of the castle, the remaining 300 meters are followed by the blue sign.

From the top there is a good view of the Lusatian Mountains, in clear weather you can see the Giant Mountains, the Jizera Mountains, Ještěd, to the southwest in the Bohemian Central Highlands you can see Sedlo and Milešovka, to the west Děčínský Sněžník and the Ore Mountains, to the north in Saxony Bieleboh and Czorneboh.

In October 2010, the Dymník Nature Trail was built from Rumburk to the lookout tower.
