Annaberg and Joachimberg

We have already been to the Stations of the Cross when the sky was pink, today we will return to two of them. Both are located near Lipová and Lobendava, respectively.

Here is some essential information:

Annaberg – Anenský vrch (Lipová–Lobendava)

The Stations of the Cross, built in 1829–1834, underwent a complete conservation and artistic restoration in 2017. Restorer Martin Wagner and artist Karel Holub ensured the renovation of the niches, followed by a ceremonial blessing by Bishop Jan Baxant. The Chapel of St. Anne, standing at the foot of the hill since 1777, is still an important pilgrimage site and cultural monument, crowned by a Gothic statue from the 16th century and renewed pilgrimage traditions.

Jáchym – hill Joachimsberg (nearby Lobendavy)

Horní vrch Jáchym was in a significantly neglected state before the reconstruction – overgrown paths, barely legible columns of the Seven Sorrows and an abandoned chapel. Around 2012, the place was “heavily overgrown, the chapel with porous plaster, the interior in disrepair”. However, in the following years, extensive restoration was carried out – the Forests of the Czech Republic revitalized the chapel and all the stops, including the Seven Sorrows, and the place was once again made accessible to pilgrims.

And here you can see that these two places are truly magical.
