Lichtenhain Waterfall

A five-meter-high sandstone step into which the water of a local stream was diverted in 1842. The waterfall is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Saxon Switzerland, but due to a lack of water, the waterfall is lowered artificially every half hour in the summer season. An 8-kilometer-long tram line has been in operation since 1898, running to the Lichtenhainer Wasserfall from Bad Schandau through the Křinice Valley.

The tram runs every half hour in season, once an hour in the off-season.
