Kleinstein Rock Gate
In the northern part of the Saxon Switzerland National Park, the last rocky peaks and interesting rock formations of this area rise on a long ridge. On many maps, the ridge is marked Kleinstein with an elevation of 378 m.a.s.l. In reality, it is a rocky peak with a lookout below which lies a smaller rock town and a false rock cave (Kleinsteinhohle). The best access is from the village of Saupsdorf (4 km along the red trail). The aforementioned ridge, accessible from Saupsdorf, on which there are interesting rock formations, is topped by a rock tower with a lookout and a railing. From here, the route along ladders descends to the lower rock town and the Křinice valley. From the lookout, we can see almost the entire central region of Saxon Switzerland. Not far from here (2 km) are the remains of the Arnstein rock castle.
