I don’t live in the castle, but I’m actually still here…

The Dlouhá jízda and the Rose Garden at the Děčín Chateau have undergone extensive reconstruction in the past two years.
At the end of January, I came to the castle by Long Ride and saw the Rose Garden. Everything was under the snow, more black and white than colourful, but – under the white ghost – so calm and soothing.

But I did not make the journey to Děčín just to admire it, but also to ask the castle director Miroslava Poskočilová not only how satisfied she is with the result of the reconstruction, but also what they offered and offer to visitors, what they can look forward to and, in fact, what it is like to live in such a castle and with such a castle.
With a castle that was mortified by military garrisons in the last century – first German and then Russian.
I think the chat was hearty, but I suppose I’m far from having asked everything. And I think the director has a lot of information that she might tell us next time.
Listen to this for starters – it’s really interesting!
