Brand Viewpoint

The Brand rock plateau lies in the middle of the forests, about 170 m above the Polenz valley to the north of the Elbe Sandstones. The famous viewpoint on the Brand rock plateau, about 3 km from the town of Hohnstein, is known as the “balcony of Saxon Switzerland”. At an altitude of 317 m above sea level, it offers visitors a panorama of unforgettable beauty, the view travels from the Bastei area to the Schrammsteine ​​massif, as well as to the Ore Mountains and the Bohemian Central Mountains. On Brand, visit the national park information center in a log cabin (Blockhaus Brand).
