Climb to Bukovka for Stunning Views
The more demanding bike trip starts in Děčín.
There join the cycle route No. 2 – the Elbe Cycle Trail. It will lead you upstream to Těchlovice.
Děčín – Těchlovice – Buková hora – Víťova rozhledna – Verneřice – Merboltice – Starý Šachov – Děčín
At the Přední Lhota crossroads, you will join the cycle route No. 3124 and a 9 km long and quite demanding climb to Buková hora will await.
Through Rytířov and along nice paved forest paths, after 600 vertical meters, you will reach Buková hora with the communications tower of the same name.
It does not serve as a lookout tower, so we recommend visiting the nearby Humboldtova vyhlídka, which can be reached by a red hiking trail and offers a beautiful view of the Bohemian Central Highlands.
From Bukovka, ride through the local pastures to Víťova rozhledna near Náčkovice, boasting another wonderful view.
From there, the route leads to Verneřice and then along cycle route No. 3125 through the picturesque village of Merboltice, you will descend into the valley of the Ploučnice River. To return to Děčín, follow the cycle route No. 15 – the Ploučnice Cycle Trail.
In Děčín, you can visit the castle, the aquapark or the beautiful viewpoint on the Shepherd’s Wall.
