Family day in Krásná Lípa – rock trails, fun and the smell of herbs

House of Bohemian Switzerland – interactive exhibition for young and old
Your adventure begins in the House of Bohemian Switzerland right on Křinický náměstí. The interactive exhibition here will delight children and adults alike – you will walk through the salmon path or badger hole, get lost in the labyrinth of the sandstone landscape. The exhibition also includes a panoramic projection “Landscape born of sand and sea” and an emotional film “Landscape of mystery“, which will guide you through the history and beauty of Bohemian Switzerland.
After visiting the exhibition, take a walk through the city park. Its paved paths are a great base for racing on the scooters and falling asleep in the stroller. If perhaps the kids haven’t had enough, take them to the Cimrák pond – there’s a playground with various attractions. Here, children can play while parents relax on benches overlooking the water. Over the dam of the pond, you can easily get to the town sports complex of Bohemian Switzerland, where there is a lot of sports activities, including mini golf.
Pumphut’s Mill – an adventure in the escape game
For families looking for adventure, it is the ideal stop Pumphut’s Mill in Krásná Lípa. This escape game, inspired by the local legend of the sorcerer Pumphut, takes place in the historic cellars of the house No. 480/7 in Komenského Street. Your task is to break Pumphut’s spell and get the mill wheel turning again. The game is suitable for groups of 2-5 people after booking and lasts 60 minutes. Do you dare to free the mill? :-)
Kyjov valley and the nature trail “Through all senses”
From Krásná Lípa, head (on foot or by one of the tourist lines) to the Kyjov valley, where the new nature trail “All the Senses” awaits you . The trail is wheelchair accessible and suitable for strollers and children’s bicycles. On the trail, children will engage in various activities that stimulate all the senses – from listening to the sounds of nature to exploring smells and touch. The trail will take you through the picturesque valley of the Křinice River, where you can look forward to interesting challenges and surprises.
Other attractions in the area
The dominant feature of the local region is a basalt hill – Vlčí hora. It is only 581 metres above sea level, yet it feels like somewhere on the Šumava ridge. After a fire in the tower, life has returned to it and during the high season it is open daily except Mondays from 10 am to 5 pm. From its vantage point you will have the Bohemian Switzerland and the Lusatian Mountains in the palm of your hand, and in good visibility you will not miss the Jizera Mountains or even the Giant Mountains. You can walk to the village of Vlčí Hora along the Kögler nature trail (from Krásná Lípa via Sněžná, less than 2 hours and 5.5 km) or take bus no. 407. From the bus stop it is a comfortable half an hour to the lookout tower.
Wolf Mountain – a world of scents
The village of Vlčí Hora cannot be missed. The beautiful scent of herbs and natural cosmetics is wafting from the village. Right in the centre of the village visit Nobilis Tilia Aromatherapy Centre. Part of the complex is the natural show garden of Vlčihora, which is full of aromatic and medicinal plant scents. The garden is freely accessible all year round and offers a peaceful background and space for education. The garden has a number of features for children and a children’s play area. You can take shelter from the weather in the Herb Tea Room. Here you can enjoy fragrant herbal teas, freshly ground coffee and homemade treats from regional suppliers.
