Czech-Saxon border crossing behind under-construction houses
The tour starts in Rumburk, where it is possible to see a set of 18 half-timbered houses (in Šmilovského Street) before the bike tour itself.
Then leave Rumburk along the cycle tour route and follow cycle route No. 3014 around Dymník and then along route No. 211 to Krásná Lípa.
Rumburk – Krásná Lípa – Dlouhý Důl – Vlčí Hora – Brtníky – Kopec – Kyjovské údolí – Tourist Bridge – Kyjov – Doubice – Rybniště – Jiřetín pod Jedlovou – Dolní Podluží – Herrenwalde – Großschönau – Varnsdorf – Seifhennersdorf – Rumburk
From here you will go through Krásný Buk, from where it is only a short walk to the Dlouhý důl Village Conservation Area, where a set of folk timbered houses awaits you.
In the village of Vlčí hora you can relax and recharge your batteries in the beautiful Nobilis Tilia herbal teahouse.
After a break, continue on through Brtníky and Kopec to the crossroads Zadní Doubice – Brtnický most and then through the unique Kyjov valley along the Křinice river to Kyjov.
Here it is possible to use the local reservoir in the summer months and take a dip.
After a few kilometres in the saddle you will reach Doubice with its unique wooden sculptures and beautiful village architecture. After that, pedal through Rybniště and Jiřetín pod Jedlovou to Dolní Podluží.
Stop here at the Forman Inn.
The present building is an example of Lusatian architecture and still serves as a refreshment – there is a tavern U zlaté podkovy.
After the stop, continue cycling across the border and visit Herrenwalde and Großschönau in neighbouring Saxony. Here, too, there are exceptionally well-preserved sub-stations. It is only a short walk back to Rumburk via Varnsdorf and Seifhennersdorf.
