Bicycle tour around the largest table mountain in Bohemia

The tour starts in the village of Sněžník, which can be reached by car or in the tourist season a cyclo-bus from Děčín runs here.

The first destination of the trip is the highest table mountain in the Czech Republic – Děčínský Sněžník.

Sněžník – Děčínský Sněžník (top) – Sněžník – Rosenthal – Ostrov – Sněžník

From the start you will have a 2.5 km long hike. On the way you will pass interesting rock formations. At its highest point, Děčínský Sněžník reaches a height of 723 metres above sea level and offers a beautiful view from the Drážďanská vyhlídka, especially from the stone lookout tower at the top.

You will see the rock formations of Bohemian and Saxon Switzerland, Saxon table mountains, Růžový vrch, České středohoří and in good visibility even Ještěd. After a visit to the lookout tower and possibly a refreshment at the top, continue back to the village of Sněžník and then take the cycle route no. 3017. It will lead you through the forest to the Wolf Lake. Continue along cycle route No. 23 and at the next crossroads head towards Rosenthal.

Not far from this German village is a popular local tourist destination, the so-called Hercules Columns (Herkulessäule, can only be visited on foot).

The route of the trip will lead you along nice forest paths back to Bohemia, to Ostrov.

The beautiful surroundings invite you to relax, so stop by the Hotel Ostrov, where you can refresh yourself with a view of the beautiful rock formations. From Ostrov, you need to pedal a bit and ride back up the hill to cycle route no. 23.

After a few kilometres it will lead you back to the start of the trip to the village of Sněžník. Alternatively, the trip can also be taken from Děčín.
