Along the river Mandava to Großschönau

Cycling along the Mandava River starts in the village of Brtníky, which you can reach in the tourist season thanks to a special tourist line T2, called the cyclo train of Bohemian Switzerland.

From Brtníky go to the source of the Mandava River, which is located between the villages of Brtníky, Panský and Nové Křečany.

Brtníky – Staré Křečany – Rumburk – Seifhennersdorf – Varnsdorf – Großschönau

There is also a nice resting place with a sitting area and a fountain by the spring, where there is a very nice view of the landscape. After you have had a rest, head further along the Mandava to Stary Křečany, where you can visit an interesting Stations of the Cross.

From Staré Křečany you can continue to Rumburk.

The city was formerly known as the Little Paris of the North and offers many places of tourist interest. In particular the Loreto. The Baroque sacral monument is open all year round and you can visit guided tours and interesting cultural events.

Go to Rumburk for refreshments, for example to the Bohemian Coffee House café and coffee roastery, or next door to the BalaHala dance hall.

From Rumburk, the route continues along the Mandava River to the German town of Seifhennersdorf, where you will find the interesting Karasek Museum.

After that, the Mandava River flow and the route of the trip returns to Bohemia and heads to Varnsdorf, where you can make your cycling trip more interesting, for example, in the regional brewery Kocour or run (or pedal) to Rozhledna Hrádek (Burgsberg).

The Mandava River and the cycling route continue from Varnsdorf to Germany, this route ends in Großschönau, Germany, but it is possible to go as far as Zittau.
