Along the Kamenice River in search of unknown treasures
The trip starts in Česká Kamenice, where you can see the local chimes or the Mlýnky miniature park.
The cycling trip itself leads from Česká Kamenice along cycle route No. 21, along the Kamenice River.
Česká Kamenice – Mlýny – Hraniční rybník – Horní Chřibská – Chřibská aqueduct – Studený – Kunratice – Česká Kamenice
The trail leads directly under the ruins of Fredevald Castle (Pustý zámek) and also past several pretty chapels and the Mills Forest Theatre. In Dolní Falknov, you can turn off the route a little on hot summer days and visit the Forest Pond, which serves as a natural swimming pool.
Right on the route of the trip there is another nice water area where you can relax, namely the Border Pond. From Hraniční rybník, follow cycle route No. 3013 and you will reach a nice forest path below Malý Stožec.
From the crossroads, cycle route No. 3052 will lead you further to Chřibská. It lies on the border of Bohemian Switzerland and the Lusatian Mountains and in the past it was the oldest glassworks in Central Europe. Here you can refresh yourself.
After a break, get on your bike and continue along cycle route 3052. In the local part of Dolní Chřibská you can see several interesting buildings of folk architecture during the bike tour.
An important building near Chřibská is the unique Chřibská Aqueduct. It was built as part of the embankment of Florian Hübel’s weaving mill at the end of the 19th century.
From the aqueduct, cycle route No. 3052 will lead you further through the village of Studený, around the very nice Pavlina valley to Lipnice and Kunratice.
From there it is only a few kilometres back to Česká Kamenice. In the summer months, you can end your cycling trip here at the local swimming pool, which is located in a beautiful natural environment and has bicycle boxes for storing bicycles.
