Wood carving in Lipová

The Lipovský dřevák (wood carving) has been organized by the municipality of Lipová since 2008. The wood for the carving comes directly from the municipality or its surroundings. Some years have been held with international participation of sculptors and twelve sculptures were carved. All carved sculptures remain in our region or directly in the municipality of Lipová. The themes for the sculptures are chosen to point out the tradition or uniqueness of the place where the sculpture will subsequently be placed. The event is also accompanied by other competitions, such as the decathlon, where one of the disciplines is about the knowledge of our region.
Children’s visitors like to try out various workshops provided by regional producers and partners of the municipality.
The attendance of the clog varies between 900 and 1200 paying visitors. The total attendance is around 2000 visitors.
The Lipovský cobblestone house won the Golden Muse of the North 2015 award for the original expansion of the cultural offer of the Šluknov region.

In 2026, the Lipovský dřevák will take place on August 29th.
