Tolštejn Festival

This festival has been held annually in Jiřetín pod Jedlovou since 2001. It is the largest and most-visited event on the Tolštejn estate and is organized in a historical spirit. The program includes a fair, beauty pageants, jousting tournaments, and demonstrations of traditional crafts.

An important part of the event is the firefly procession, which takes place in the early evening, when people carrying lit torches climb from Křížová Mountain to Tolštejn Castle.

This event traditionally supports regional producers and artisans, who showcase their products there. Participants can sample goat and sheep cheeses, various types of baked goods, and regional beer, or purchase products bearing the “Bohemian-Saxon Switzerland Regional Product” label.
