Among the oldest and most interesting villages of the Bohemian Switzerland region belongs Růžová. The first written mention of it dates back to 1352, when it belonged to the lords of Michalovice. Its other important owners were members of the Clary-Aldringen family, who in the 19th century helped to open the largest rock bridge in Europe – Pravčická brána and the nearby romantic gorges of the Kamenice River.
The dominant feature of Růžová is the Baroque church of St. Peter and Paul from 1710-1712.
Part of Růžová is the local part of Kamenická Stráň, which surprises visitors with its preserved folk architecture – typical half-timbered houses, where the timbered foundation of the house with a half-timbered floor and unique decoration of gables, windows or doors of these buildings are sensitively complemented.
Růžová is situated in close proximity to the Czech Switzerland National Park and provides visitors with a number of opportunities for romantic wanderings and trips to the nearby and distant surroundings. There are many possibilities for visitors who like beautiful views, as well as those who are enchanted by the unique nature of deep gorges.

Riedl’s Conciliation Cross – by the forest road from Růžová to Srbská Kamenice. A stone cross from the 18th century, carved to commemorate the violent death of the merchant Riedl in these places. The atonement crosses were made by the perpetrators as an expression of their regret for the act they committed and to reconcile the soul of the deceased with God.

You know that…
…a municipal emblem or flag does not have to come from ancient times, but can be created today? Such modern signs can be found in Růžová since 2007. The emblem of the village is a shield, its division shows that the village consists of 2 parts, Růžová and Kamenická Stráň. The silver-black half-turned side of the shield is inspired by the coat of arms of the Lords of Michalovice, the founders of the village. The name of the village is symbolized by a silver rose on the stem. The crossed sword and the key are attributes of St. Peter and Paul, to whom the church in Růžová is dedicated. The red colour of the shield commemorates the martyrdom of these two saints. The flag of Rozova is similarly designed.
