Hand felted and embroidered sheep wool products – Jana Stejskalová Desing

Jana Stejskalová lives in the north of Bohemia in Děčín, where she works in her studio as a textile artist. As a textile artist, she works with a variety of materials in her work on theatre costumes and custom-made clothing. His encounter with wool was the same. What started out as a tentative encounter grew into a strong relationship. Wool fascinated Jana Stejskalova as a natural material with all its wonderful properties.

At first, she incorporated wool into her designs and used wool detail occasionally, then gradually started to make entire garments out of wool.

“In my work I use one of the original techniques of wool processing – felting, felting. The wool and the technology are very environmentally friendly, and this reassures me of the right direction for my work. I am trying to give this material and technology a new, contemporary design in my conception, to bring my amazing experiences with wool to you… My latest project is children’s wool caps. I hope that this part of my work will attract you and that you will become a fan of wool as much as I am.”
