Cross of Joanna Michelova – Jetřichovice

The classicist cross is located on the road from Jetřichovice to Zadní Jetřichovice near the rock formation Kočičí kostel. It was erected by the blacksmith master A. Michel from Jetřichovice together with his wife A. Elizabeth on the spot where their eight-year-old daughter Johannka was killed by lightning in 1819. A newly forged iron cross was placed on the restored sandstone pedestal and the silhouette of Christ was mounted. The inscription was added: “Father! In deine Hände empfehle ich meinen Geist. 1819” The reconstruction of the cross of Johannka Michelová was carried out in 2011 by the non-profit organization České Švýcarsko as part of the Listen to the Voice of Villages project financed by the Central Europe Transnational Cooperation Program and co-financed by the ERDF.
