Chmelník History Nature Trail

Follow in the footsteps of the past and see how Chmelník has changed over time. A trip along this nature trail combines a pleasant walk through nature with the discovery of local history.

What awaits you along the route, and how does the trail work?

• You can easily view and plan the entire route in the Mapy.com app. The route map is here.

• Most of the route follows the yellow marked hiking trail, where you’ll come across 5 interactive stops. Simply scan the QR code with your cell phone to view period photographs right on the spot, showing you what each location looked like in the past.

• The individual stops do not necessarily follow one another in sequence. It’s entirely up to you where you start and in what order you visit the stops.

What’s the best way to get to the trail?

You can easily reach the yellow hiking trail leading to the nature trail via public transit or train:

• From Chrochvice: From the last bus stop (follow the yellow trail marker).

• From Vilsnice: From the train station (follow the yellow trail marker).

• Alternative routes: You can extend your walk and reach the trail via unmarked paths from the surrounding areas—from Krásný Studenec, Nová Bohyně, or Stará Bohyně.
