Long circuit around Hřensko
If you are looking for a day adventure in the heart of the National Park Bohemian Switzerland, this trail will take you to the most picturesque places around Hřensko. The route is approximately 18 km long and offers breathtaking views, a romantic cruise through the Wild Gorge and a visit to the iconic Pravčická Gate.
How to get there?
The trip starts at the bust stop Hřensko, nábřeží BUS, from where you’ll follow the yellow trail up towards the Elisalex lookout, which offers a beautiful view of Hřensko and the confluence of the Elbe and Kamenice rivers. For more views, head to the Janov lookout tower, which you will reach after about 90 minutes. Here you can relax and enjoy the panoramic view of the Bohemian Switzerland and the Elbe Sandstones. From the Janov lookout tower, continue along the yellow trail past the golf course towards Hájenky (near BUS 441), where you’ll join the green trail leading to Mezní můstek. From there, after about 10 minutes, follow the yellow signs upstream of Kamenice to the quay of the Wild Gorge. Enjoy a magical boat ride between the rocks, a favourite experience for all visitors to the region. After the ride, follow the same route back to Mezní můstek and continue along the green trail to Mezná. The path is shorter but more physically demanding due to the stairs, expect about 20 minutes.

In Mezná, you’ll come by Resort Mezná, where you can refresh yourself while enjoying the view of the surrounding countryside. Once you’ve recharged your energy, continue along the yellow-marked Mlýnská cesta (Mill Road), where a new viewing platform, the Phoenix, recently opened. It boasts a unique view of the massive Křídelní stěny, Pravčická Gate, and the landscape that is gradually being restored after the devastating fire. The platform also includes a permanent outdoor exhibition of large-format photographs. They document the transformation of the landscape in this part of the National Park and introduces visitors to the process of its restoration.

After about 45 minutes, you will reach the Tři prameny crossroads, as well as a bus stop. There begins the final climb to the largest natural rock arch in Europe – Pravčická Gate. This section takes approximately 45 minutes. At the top, you can rest, visit the Sokolí hnízdo restaurant and enjoy the unforgettable views. After visiting Pravčická Gate, teturn to Tři prameny, where you can take a bus or – if you have energy left – walk back to Hřensko (+2.5 km).
