Šaunštejn

One of the most beautiful rock castles is located on the Czech Road north of the village of Vysoká Lípa, near the red sign to the Malá Pravčická Gate. Originally the Berkov Castle, founded in the 13th century. At the beginning of the 15th century, it was pawned by the Vartenberk family, and played a role in the wars between the Vartenberk family, Saxony and Lusatia. At the beginning of the 16th century, it was abandoned and disappeared. From Šaunštejn there is a beautiful view of the region, dominated by Růžovský Hill.
