Rock niche with the painting of the Crucifixion – Jetřichovice

The Crucifixion is located by the road to Všemile, on the former church path from Jetřichovice to Srbská Kamenice. The niche was carved into a sandstone rock formation called the Hourglass.

During the restoration, a new painting with the scene of the Crucifixion was painted. The oil painting on sheet depicts Christ, the grieving Virgin Mary, Mary Magdalene and St. Jana. The motif was chosen based on period photographs.

The reconstruction was carried out in 2011 by the non-profit organization České Švýcarsko as part of the Listen to the Voice of Villages project, funded through the Central Europe Transnational Cooperation Program and co-financed by the ERDF.
