Genoa Lookout Tower
This new year-round freely accessible lookout tower is located on a gentle hill (Janovský vrch) on the edge of the village of Janov, about 15 km north of Děčín. The total height of the lookout tower is 40 m, the viewpoint is located at 30 meters. You can find it on the yellow tourist trail from Hřensko, which continues to the Indian village of Rosehill in Hájenky and to the Wild Gorge of the Kamenice River with boat trips.
From the lookout tower, you can see Děčínský Sněžník as if in the palm of your hand, there is also a beautiful view of the Stříbrné stěny and the Pravčická brána and of course the surrounding villages. You can also see the Růžovský vrch, part of the Lusatian Mountains and the table mountains in Saxony. The lookout tower in Janov u Hřensko also attracts tourists during the winter. You can visit it if the temperatures do not drop below minus 10 °C. You can park near the Golf Janov area and the lookout tower is already visible from there. The iron tower itself was built at the end of 2013. The operation of the lookout is provided by the local company Nord Bohemia Golf, s.r.o.
At the foot of the lookout tower there is a vending machine for commemorative coins with a picture of the lookout tower – it costs 50 CZK and only coins with a nominal value of 10, 20 and 50 CZK can be inserted.
