Scooters & Inline Skates in Bohemian Switzerland
Given that scooters have really been gaining in popularity over the last few years, we’ve decided to dedicate today’s article to tips on where to go scooter riding. However, we’ll also have something for inline skaters. We’ll also be sharing tips on where to go inline skating.
Scooters have the advantage that anyone can ride them. They’re faster than walking, and children will certainly appreciate not having to walk. You could head for a scooter trip to the Elbe Valley, for example, where there’s a cycle path running alongside the River Elbe. It’s not a particularly demanding route; the cycle path is mostly flat, making it suitable for inline skaters too.
Another tip for a scooter ride is the ‘Česká silnice’. This is both a cycle path and an educational trail. It starts in Vysoká Lípa and ends in Jetřichovice, with a total length of 6 km.
For the more adventurous, Active Point offers a scooter descent from Děčínský Sněžník. This company also runs a scooter hire service.
As for inline skates, the trail along the River Elbe is truly long. It’s therefore up to you whether you choose the section near Děčín or, alternatively, visit our German neighbours and skate all the way from Bad Schandau to Dresden.
We urge you to prioritise your safety when out on scooters and skates, and therefore not to forget, above all, to wear a helmet and other protective gear.
P.S. Don’t forget to check out our new video by the talented Lukáš Matocha, who captured a three-day ‘sustainable trip’ by a group of travellers exploring the stories of the people and the landscape in our region.
