Pine needle syrup

 Pine needle syrup from the restaurant U Fořta in Mezní Louka was included among the regional products.

Syrup is made from hand-picked pine needles and sugar. Young spruce shoots are collected when the spruces are in bloom, usually in the first half of May. They contain a number of useful substances from vitamin C to some minerals and essential oils. In addition to its classic use as a sweetener for tea or for coughs and colds, it is used to prepare a special vinaigrette – a salad dressing or to pickle pearl onions in it, which are then a wonderful flavor addition to venison or venison pâtés. Pine needle syrup also serves as the basis for homemade lemonades or roasted tea.  

Everything is made directly in the U Fořta kitchen, using the maximum amount of regional ingredients. These are original recipes from the local chef, and for now, the products can only be tasted there.
