Evangelický kostel (dříve sv. Jana Nepomuckého) – Rumburk

This church has a turbulent history. The Catholic church was built in 1775–78 according to the plans of Josef Hoffman. The foundation stone was laid in 1775, placed under the future altar. The tower of the building was decorated with a gilded cross and a sculpture of St. John of Nepomuk. However, the church served its purpose for only 9 years. During the Josephine reforms, the building was secularized and on the 3rd 8. In 1787 it was sold at auction to the master dyer Anton Sieber. Three years later the object was bought by the canvas wholesaler Anton Salomon. The previous altar was donated to the parish church in Rumburk. On 31. 3. In 1817, his daughters Anna and Antonia bought the building along with the surrounding fields and established a garden there. Next to the church is a cultural space and teahouse Domeček Na Kopečku, which is run by the civic association Dokořán Rumburk. The church is cared for by the parish congregations of the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren in Rumburk and Varnsdorf. Some activities take place at the nearby rectory.
