Family trip along the Czech Road – fairy tales, nature and treasure at the end of the road
Go with your children on an adventurous trip along the nature trail on the Czech Road, which will take you through a piece of the landscape of the Czech Switzerland National Park. The route is a comfortable 6 km long (the way there) and leads from Vysoké Lipa to the extinct settlement of Zadní Jetřichovice. Along the way you will discover not only the beauty of nature, but also traces of history and fairy-tale scenery.
Fun for kids: treasure hunt
The trail has been prepared by the National Park itself and has prepared a search engine for you and your children called Journey through time from prehistoric times to the present! At the beginning of the trail you will find boxes with the assignment and a pencil, or you can download the materials in advance from the website of the National Park Bohemian Switzerland here. The goal is to solve the riddle, which will open the treasure chest at the end of the route in Zadní Jetřichovice. The hunt is suitable for children of the second grade of primary school, with the help of their parents younger children can also manage it.

What awaits you on the route?
- Start of the route: Vysoká Lípa, crossroads below Šaunštejn
- End of the route: Zadní Jetřichovice
- Length of the route: 6 km (the way there, but you can always return) and it goes this way
- Time: Allow 1.5 hours to get there. The time you spend at each stop is up to you. 😊
- Trail surface: asphalt, suitable for strollers and with assistance for wheelchairs.
- Stops along the route: 12 interactive panels with information about the history, nature and life in the area.

Fairy tale stops
- Uhlíř’s cottage: a replica of the fairy-tale cottage from The Proud Princess, where some scenes were filmed. The house is freely passable and children can imagine how life was in the fairy tale.
- Wooden statues of animals: Along the route you will meet statues of bears (at the cottage) but also reindeer, which the children know from the great migrations of the past.

The Czech Road Nature Trail offers the ideal combination of nature, history and fun for the whole family. Thanks to the asphalt surface, it is also suitable for strollers and smaller children on bicycles. Don’t forget to bring a pencil and paper for your search engine and enjoy a day full of adventure in the heart of Bohemian Switzerland.
