Loop route to Jetřichovice lookouts
The Jetřichovice region also used to be called the Hind Country. After Pravčická Gate, it is perhaps the second most famous place in Bohemian Switzerland, and rightly so. It has been popular with tourist since the beginning of the 19th century, mostly with the strong support of the noble Kinský family, who built the famous Jetřichovice viewpoints and the paths to them.
How to get there?
From Jetřichovice, start at the bus stop by the local Information Center and follow the blue trail that will lead you past the Church of St. John of Nepomuk. The trail continues through meadows, with beautiful views of Mary’s Rock and Vilemína’s Wall, to the rock Chapel of the Last Judgement, also known as the Chapel of Kny. Here you rest for a while before climbing up the red trail around the rocky mountain Koliště to the Pohovka crossroads.

From here, follow the red trail to the Rudolf’s Stone lookout, which offers a breathtaking circular view of the wide surroundings. From Rudolf’s Stone, descend through the Purkartický les crossroads to another rock landmark – Vilemína’s Wall. From there you will reach a very nice resting place, the rock overhang Balzerovo ležení (Tetřevna), from where it is only a short walk to the last viewpoint of this route – the famous Mary’s Rock. From Mary’s Rock, you will descend steeply down the red trail back to Jetřichovice, past the former children’s convalescent home, which now serves as an accommodation facility. Inside you will find space for your own tents, caravan pitches, motorhomes, and inside there are three cosy rooms and a suite with a balcony. In the summer months, there is also a kiosk with refreshments for tourists.
