Over the centuries, it served as a stronghold of the Czech prince, a military fortress and the seat of several important families. The history of D\u011b\u010d\u00edn Castle dates back to   <strong>until the 10th century <\/strong>, when a wooden fortification stood here, which served as the central point of administration of the D\u011b\u010d\u00edn province.<\/p>\n<p>The mansion has undergone many building modifications in the past, the most important of which were carried out <strong>by the Thun-Hohenstein family<\/strong>. This family carried out two important reconstructions of the D\u011b\u010d\u00edn estate in the years 1628-1932, leading to its current form. However, in 1932, the family sold the castle to the Czechoslovak state, which created barracks there. In the following years, the Czechoslovak, German and, in the years 1968-1991, Soviet armies took turns occupying it. In 1991, the D\u011b\u010d\u00edn castle became<strong> the property of the city of D\u011b\u010d\u00edn.<\/strong>    <\/p>\n<p>Among its visitors we can find many famous personalities, from European monarchs to artists. For example, Fryderyk Chopin composed his famous waltz in A flat major, called D\u011b\u010d\u00ednsk\u00fd, here. Thanks to extensive reconstruction, the castle is now returning to its former beauty.
