The oldest reliable mention of the village and the church in written sources dates back to 1352. The presbytery and sacristy date back to the first half of the 14th century. The nave from the beginning of the 16th century was built by the same stoneworks that also participated in the construction of churches in Bene\u0161ov nad Plou\u010dnic\u00ed and Most. It was completed in 1510, as indicated by the date above the buttress on its northern facade. The church was partially baroqued in the years 1716-1723. The Gothic single-nave rectangular church with a pentagonally closed presbytery with a square sacristy on the right (northern) side and a tower on the southern side of the nave has preserved several late Gothic portals. The portal in the tower has a uniquely preserved and restored Gothic painting (polychromy from the turn of the 1st and 2nd decades of the 16th century). There is a Baroque ceiling painting on the vault of the church. After the complete renovation of the building in 2011-2012, which was provided by the \u0158KF Jedlka and other donors, the church was consecrated by the Bishop of Litom\u011b\u0159ice, Mons. Jan Baxant. In 2008-2009, the local organ from Feller&#8217;s workshop in Libouchec from 1856 was restored. In 2013, the restoration of the enclosure wall began with a contribution from the Ministry of Culture.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cultural uses:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The church hosts the Night of Churches, the St. Anne&#8217;s Pilgrimage, and concerts of sacred music. The events are prepared by the Cultural and Historical Association of Mal\u00e9 Velen\u011b, Jedlky and Sout\u011bsky, o. s. During the events, an exhibition of historical photographs of the church with information about its repair is available.   <\/p>\n<p><strong>Intangible cultural heritage:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The construction of the organ from the Feller brothers&#8217; workshop in Libouchec was supported by the emperor and Czech king Franz Joseph I. The teacher Melzer asked him for the contribution in verse. The emperor sent 358 gulden to the collection. In his honor, the organ case is decorated with the golden initials of his name and a copy of the imperial crown.  <\/p>\n<p><strong>Points of interest:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Gothic sculpture of the Pieta from around 1420 is now on loan in the National Gallery in Prague, and the Crucified Christ is in the Gothic art exhibition of the Regional Museum in D\u011b\u010d\u00edn. The sundial on the church tower was made by Benedikt Krolop in 1785 and was restored in    2008.
