It is one of the most valuable and interesting parts of Bohemian Switzerland. It is named after Prince Edmund Clary-Aldringen. In the deep gorge of the Kamenice River with high sandstone walls, one can very clearly observe the so-called reversal of vegetation levels, which occurs as a result of climate inversion. This means that due to the accumulation of cold air, cold-loving species grow on the bottom of the gorge at an altitude of only about 150 m, such as the double-flowered violet, the fir-leaved grebe or the thorny coneflower, which are otherwise found in mountainous or foothill locations. On the edges of the sandstone walls, there is the marsh sedge, a characteristic plant species of Bohemian-Saxon Switzerland. Typical inhabitants of the gorge also include the river kingfisher, water starfish, mountain wagtail, black stork, water bat, and rarely the river otter. Among the invertebrates, species characteristic of mountain and inversion positions are found here. Part of the gorge is accessible only by boat, the operation of which began in 1890. <\/p>\n
