It is 11 m high, 17 m wide and 24 m deep. It got its name during the Thirty Years&#8217; War, when farmers from the surrounding villages hid here with their livestock. The gate is a popular tourist destination with beautiful views of the Affensteine \u200b\u200brocks, Mal\u00fd Winterberg. There are also steps leading from here to the top of the rock with the remains of the Wildenstein castle.
