The first attempts at mining ores took place in the second half of the 15th century. Mainly silver-bearing galena and copper ore chalcopyrite were mined here. In 1782, nobleman Jan z Edenburk founded a mining company, deepened the existing galleries and founded a new gallery of St. John the Evangelist. However, before the end of the 18th century, mining was stopped due to low yields, and the mines finally ceased to exist in 1910. The main corridor of the gallery of St. John the Evangelist measures approximately 440 m and roughly halfway through it is a space called the &#8220;chapel&#8221; with a carved altar and a wooden cross.
