The present-day town of Kottmar was founded on January 1. 01. In 2013, it was formed through the merger of several municipalities and is divided into 7 local districts:<\/p>\n

Mount Kottmar<\/strong>\u2014one of the peaks of the Lusatian Mountains, now part of the G\u00f6rlitz district. It rises to 583 meters above sea level. Like the nearby Schlechtenberg in Ebersbach and the L\u00f6bauer Berg, it is an extinct volcano formed during the Tertiary period. It consists of the volcanic igneous rock phonolite. The Spree River and the Cunnersdorfer Wasser stream, which originate here, flow into the North Sea, while the Petersbach, which also originates on Kottmar, flows via the Lusatian Neisse and the Oder into the Baltic Sea. Kottmar is thus part of the Upper Lusatian watershed. <\/p>\n Kottmar Lookout Tower <\/strong>\u2013 The Kottmar Lookout Tower (583 m above sea level) was built in 1881. The brick structure has 75 steps and is 16 meters tall. <\/p>\n The Source of the Spree<\/strong> \u2013 At the foot of Mount Kottmar lies one of the three sources of the Spree River, or Upper Spree (German: Spree; Lower Sorbian: Sprjewja). It is the highest-altitude source of this river. A\u010dkoli toto rozhodnut\u00ed bylo u\u010din\u011bno ji\u017e v roce 1786, stavba byla pom\u011brn\u011b n\u00e1kladn\u00e1 a tak byl pivovar v Eibau zalo\u017een a\u017e v roce 1810. <\/p>\n The historic Beer Parade in Eibau (Eibauer Bierzug)<\/a> is known far beyond the borders of Upper Lusatia. It has been held annually since 1993 on the last Sunday in June to commemorate the \u201cBeer War\u201d between the towns of the former Six Towns\u2014G\u00f6rlitz, Zittau, and L\u00f6bau. A special feature of the festive parade is the large number of horses, often pulling six-horse teams of festive floats, and costumed riders on horseback depicting allegorical scenes from the history of Upper Lusatia and beer production. The parade also includes bands, pipers, and, of course, beer, which is served free of charge from the allegorical floats to the audience lining the route. The three-day folk and traditional festival at the Volkshaus rounds out the \u201cBeer Festival.\u201d Every Saturday before the \u201cBeer Parade,\u201d a tour of classic cars takes place around Eibau. <\/p>\n The Kottmarsdorf Windmill<\/a><\/strong>\u2014a typical Upper Lusatian wooden windmill (Bockwindm\u00fchle) dating from 1843\u2014stands on a 435-meter-high hill known as \u201cPfarrberg,\u201d offering a beautiful view of the surrounding area.<\/p>\n Faktorsk\u00fd dv\u016fr v Eibau (Faktorenhof<\/a>)<\/strong> – v\u00fdstava k d\u011bjin\u00e1m a historick\u00fdm zvl\u00e1\u0161tnostem Eibau.
